Ventrilo is a standalone VoIP or Voice over IP application which permits a real time communication through Free Ventrilo Servers. It performs independently without having to depend on other applications like World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike Source or Battlefield 2. A Ventrilo server is excellent for competitive gaming clans and the server hosting is accessible in multiple locations to ensure a low-latency and stable voice chat environment anywhere in the globe.
The following Ventrilo How to guidelines will help in setting up the Ventrilo server:
1.) Start the Ventrilo program. Click on the Start button then the Programs and then click on Ventrilo. A menu option called Ventrilo will be displayed.
2.) Click on the “->” button next to the first pulldown window called “User Name”. A new window will be opened where one can create a logon name used in connecting to a Ventrilo server.
3.) The “New” button should be clicked and a small window will be opened where one can enter the logon name.
4.) Click the “OK” button and a more detailed information is available on the help button then the user has the option to come back anytime to this window.
5.) Going Back to the main window click on the “->” button next to the pulldown window called “Server”. This will open a new window where details about the server are entered.
6.) Go to the “New” button and click it, afterwards a small window will be opened where a name is entered and will give information on the new Ventrilo server definition.
7.) Then go to the “OK” button and click it.
8.) Click on the “Hostname or IP” input box and enter the server hostname or IP address given by the person hosting the server.
9.) Click on the “Port number” input box and enter the server’s port number. The default port number 3784 will be displayed automatically.
10.) Click on the “Password” input box and enter the Ventrilo server’s password defined by the server administrator.
11.) Go to the “OK” button and then return to the Ventrilo main window.
12.) Click “Connect” to establish a connection between the user and the server.
13.) Click on the Setup button and configure all options controlling the Ventrilo. Once in the Setup dialog click the “Help” button. Be sure to read on the other options and their functions which are essential for the Voice page

Fantastic site, I really like your writing style. Very distinctive and concise. On a lot of blogs people just drone on and on, but not you - very nice. Keep up the excellent work! I find VoIP very interesting. I have learned a lot in implementing a small VoIP network at home, and am thinking of starting VoIP business in my area. There are a number of small businesses in my region that would benefit from it greatly.
